Western Oregon University to comply with OCR Ruling on Voluntary Resolution Agreement

The U.S. Department of Education, Office for Civil Rights (OCR) is ceasing its
investigation of the above-referenced case based on the enclosed Voluntary Resolution Agreement (agreement) signed by the president of Western Oregon University (university), on May 22,2009. OCR and the university developed this agreement in response to the allegations contained in this complaint.The university's implementation of the agreement will resolve the allegations that OCR accepted for resolution. Our closure of this case is contingent on the university's successful completion of the requirements of the agreement, which includes monitoring provisions. Under the monitoring provisions, the university will provide OCR with its final compliance report by September 30, 2009.
